INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENT: Mandatory

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS: The curriculum of the Construction Technology Program consists of courses totaling 120 ECTS credits, with 30 ECTS credits in each semester. Students who successfully complete all courses (including internship) within four semesters and achieve a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.00 are eligible to graduate from the program.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Students who achieve a sufficient score in the University Entrance Examination (Basic Proficiency Test - TYT) are entitled to enroll in the associate degree program. The Construction Technology Program is a two-year technical and vocational program that provides education on construction and building concepts, theories, rules, and applications. Graduates receive the title of “Construction Technician.”

PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM

The aim of this program is to provide students with the necessary knowledge about construction techniques, project preparation, and cost estimation, and to train them as practice-oriented intermediate staff in the construction field. In addition, it is intended that students completing the program will possess the following qualifications:

Adequate mathematical knowledge in the professional field
Intermediate level English related to the profession
Basic knowledge of engineering sciences
Ability to select suitable building materials in construction technology
Ability to perform quantity surveying calculations
Ability to draw and read technical construction drawings
Ability to perform computer-aided drawing and design
Knowledge of manufacturing processes in the construction field
Adoption of total quality philosophy
Knowledge of site management and occupational safety discipline related to the profession

The construction sector is a broad field that includes different disciplines together. Technological developments continuously contribute to the growth and increase in the number of these sectors. Therefore, the demand for qualified technical personnel in these areas is also increasing. Graduates of the Construction Technology Program can find employment opportunities primarily in the construction sector, as well as in project offices, construction sites, private companies producing building materials, and public institutions such as municipalities, the State Hydraulic Works (DSİ), the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, and the General Directorate of Highways.
